Big news for Sibu driversStarting September 2025, the Sibu Municipal Council will officially roll out a Smart Parking System, allowing you to pay for parking directly through a mobile app. No more tearing parking coupons or sticking paper on your dashboard!
📍Here’s what you need to know:
✅ Wider coverage, including suburban commercial areas like Jalan Lau King Howe
✅ Enforcement officers will use smart devices to scan license plates and check payment status
✅ Unpaid vehicles will be automatically issued fines – fully digital!
✅ Contractors are required to provide manpower to support the system
✅ All parking activity will be tracked and charged – no more free rides
🚨 Heads up:
The council will also crack down on car workshops misusing public parking spaces as personal storage. Violators will face legal action once the system is in place.
