A brand new matriculation college is coming to Sematan! โ
The RM700 million project has officially been approved and will become a major pre-university education hub in Sarawak, offering spots for up to 1,500 SPM school leavers from across the state. ๐ซ
According to Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, the college will be built on a 40-acre site and is expected to be completed in 24 months. The development will bring over 2,000 people to the area โ a huge boost for the local economy and community. ๐ผ๐ช
๐ ๏ธ Site inspections are done
๐ฐ Land compensation settled
๐ Final designs being confirmed
๐ Tender process expected by end of this year or early next year
But thatโs not all.
To further uplift Sematan and Lundu, Azizul also called for three important federal projects:
A new Lundu Hospital โ the current one is over 80 years old! ๐ฅ
A RELA Volunteer Training Centre โ to enhance local security readiness ๐ฆบ
A new police station โ the current one dates back to the 1980s and needs urgent upgrading ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
These developments mark a significant leap forward for education, healthcare, and public safety in the region.
