✨ Big Tourism Boost Coming to Bau! ✨
Popular nature and heritage spots in Bau — including Bung Muan, Bung Podad, Gunung Opui, and Knuckle Hill — are set to undergo major upgrades to attract more visitors. 🏞️🌿

Serembu Assemblyman Miro Simuh announced that RM10 million has been allocated for refurbishments under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA).

🌟 What’s in store?

Bung Muan (Brooke Heritage Trail): Upgraded hiking tracks, restoration of Brooke’s heritage sites, a cultural & community centre, plus a new eco-park campsite.

Krokong Area: Enhancements to the Bung Podad hiking trail, Gunung Opui, and the historic Knuckle Hill (former Australian & Gurkha camp during the 1960s Confrontation).

Serembu Eco Park (Siniawan): A lush jungle resort at the foothills of Mount Serembu, perfect for nature lovers seeking peace and adventure.

🏛️ History meets nature:
Bung Muan holds strong historical ties with Sir James Brooke, Sarawak’s first White Rajah, and naturalist Sir Alfred Russel Wallace, who studied flora and fauna here.
Knuckle Hill, meanwhile, preserves memories of the Confrontation era, similar to the Penang War Museum.

🥾 Adventure & Culture Await!
From challenging hikes with breathtaking views to discovering local Dayak cuisine and rich Bidayuh culture — Bau is set to become a must-visit destination for both locals and international visitors. 🌏
