MBKS Explores the Idea of an Urban Camping Ground
Imagine being able to camp under the stars, enjoy nature, and spend quality family time โ€” all without leaving Kuching city! ๐ŸŒŒ

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng recently explored the Cheonwangsan Family Camping Ground in Seoul, a smart park that started as an organic farm and has since transformed into a vibrant camping and community hub. With over 27,000 sqm of greenery, 34 campsites, and 16,000 trees, itโ€™s now a favourite spot for families and young people to relax, dine, and reconnect with nature. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Inspired by this, Mayor Wee shared during his Shall WEE Talk live session that he hopes Kuching could one day have its own urban campsite too. But for this dream to come true, your ideas matter! ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿ“ข MBKS is inviting locals to share suggestions on:
โœ”๏ธ Which parks in the city could be suitable for camping
โœ”๏ธ How to make it sustainable and family-friendly
โœ”๏ธ Ways to involve NGOs, private sector & community

โ€œOur parks are the green lungs of the city โ€” letโ€™s make them spaces where people can learn, relax, and connect,โ€ said the Mayor. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ‘‰ What do you think, Kuching? Would you love to see a campsite right here in the city? Share your thoughts with MBKS and letโ€™s shape the future together! โœจ
