🌏 Connecting Brunei & Miri, Strengthening Regional Ties 🌏

The private sector is turning ideas into real action under the BIMP-EAGA Transport Private Sector Meeting (BETPSM) platform—paving the way for smoother movement of people and goods between Brunei and Miri. 🚍✈️📦

On 23 September 2025, BETPSM, in collaboration with the Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCCI), successfully held its Outreach Program in Miri, Sarawak.

✨ Key highlight:
A landmark MOU signing between Miri Transport Company (MTC) and Anthony Tours & Travel (ATT) to launch cross-border coach and bus services connecting Brunei International Airport with Miri Airport, Sarawak. This step marks the private sector’s proactive role in driving connectivity, enhancing convenience, and boosting tourism and people-to-people ties.

🚛 Looking ahead:
The Inland Container Depot (ICD) project was also showcased, with Muara Port Company (MPC) expressing interest in integrating seaports with inland logistics. This initiative could cut import/export transport times to just 30 minutes, strengthening cross-border trade and closing regional trade gaps.

The BETPSM Outreach Program in Miri is a strong reminder that in BIMP-EAGA, regional cooperation is not just an aspiration—it’s action in progress.
