Sarawak is stepping into the global spotlight as a premier sustainable tourism destination, celebrating its rich cultural heritage and the well-being of its indigenous communities. 💚
Speaking at the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 in Singapore, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah highlighted that the future of tourism lies in sustainability and responsible travel.
🌏 “Located on Borneo Island with 12.4 million hectares of tropical rainforest, Sarawak is home to 34 ethnic groups and a vibrant ecosystem — truly a hidden gem waiting to be explored with respect and responsibility.”
This year’s fair, themed “Sustainable Tourism in Sarawak: Balancing Growth and Conservation,” shines a light on how Sarawak’s indigenous communities have long lived in harmony with nature — long before sustainability became a global goal. 🌱
✨ Visitor arrivals have soared to 4.83 million, surpassing pre-pandemic levels and generating RM12.45 billion in revenue — proof that green growth is the way forward!
The Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 features 50+ exhibitors and serves as a platform for collaboration among agencies, investors, and tourism stakeholders to promote a greener, more inclusive future for Sarawak. 🌺
