One of northern Sarawak’s most anticipated cultural events — the Badudun and Buffalo Racing Festival — is back this weekend! 🎉
📅 Date: Oct 24–26, 2025
📍 Venue: Kampung Lubuk Piasau, Limbang
Now in its 11th edition, this exciting festival is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors from across Malaysia and beyond 🌍
Organised by the Limbang Malay Association (PML) and the Limbang Buffalo Breeders and Racing Association (PPLKL), in collaboration with the Limbang Resident’s Office, the festival celebrates the rich heritage and unity of the local Malay community.
💫 The word “Badudun” means “coming together” — perfectly reflecting the festival’s spirit of togetherness since its humble beginnings in 2012.
🐃 The main highlight?
The thrilling traditional buffalo racing competition, featuring over 30 racers!
🎶 Plus, don’t miss the Cultural Night on Oct 25, featuring gambus music, dance, and traditional performances.
⚽ Other fun activities include petanque, top spinning, and ‘kuit’ — traditional games that keep local culture alive.
PML chairman Mohamad Abu Bakar shared that the festival continues to grow as a major tourism draw, attracting visitors even from neighbouring Brunei Darussalam.
✨ Recognised on both the Limbang District Main Festival Calendar and the Sarawak Tourism Calendar, the event’s popularity has led to improved facilities, including new roads and a main stage for performances.
More than just a celebration — the Badudun Festival is a symbol of unity, community pride, and the vibrant multicultural spirit of Sarawak. ❤️
