Sarawak is set to make history with the construction of a world-class new international airport in Tanjung Embang, designed with next-generation concepts and smart technology.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that the upcoming airport is expected to surpass Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in terms of design, efficiency, and sustainability — making it Malaysia’s most advanced airport yet! 🏗️✨

Inspired by the design of Doha International Airport, the project will feature:
🛫 Two runways
🏢 A modern main terminal
💻 High-tech ICT infrastructure
🛣️ International-standard access roads

Abang Johari emphasized that the new airport is not just a terminal, but a smart integrated complex — a symbol of Sarawak’s progress towards becoming an advanced region by 2030. 🚀

The mega project will also create new job opportunities and stimulate growth in construction, materials, and digital technology sectors.
