The Sarawak Government has agreed to open a new direct route between Kuching and Kuantan, to be operated by Borneo Airways in the near future. This exciting development will strengthen the connection between Sarawak and Pahang, boosting both tourism and economic opportunities. 🌏✨
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari said:
“Through Borneo Airways, we hope to launch direct flights between Kuching and Kuantan. This will not only connect Sarawak and Pahang, but also open up new spaces for tourism and trade development in the region.”
This initiative follows the proposal made by His Majesty Sultan Abdullah of Pahang, who encouraged the establishment of this route to enhance ties between the two states.
Both Sarawak and Pahang are rich in natural resources and cultural heritage, and this collaboration is expected to promote cultural exchange, craft development, and eco-tourism on a larger scale. 🌿🏞️
As of August this year, Sarawak’s tourism revenue has already reached RM8.2 billion, with the state aiming to hit RM12.7 billion by year-end — a testament to its growing tourism potential. 💪
🚀 With the upcoming Kuching–Kuantan direct flight, travellers can soon explore the unique beauty, culture, and warmth that both regions have to offer!
