Kuching’s iconic love for cats has just taken a creative leap! 🎨 The newly launched “Lucky Kuching” sculptures celebrate the city’s unique identity and irresistible charm.
Inspired by Berlin’s famous Buddy Bears, this public art initiative features a series of stylised lucky cat statues placed around the city — forming the fun and photo-worthy #LuckyKuchingTrail.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian shared that:
“The word ‘kucing’ means cat in Malay, making our city the perfect home for an initiative inspired by lucky cats — a global symbol of good fortune, harmony, and positivity.”
He also thanked Borneo Restu’s Managing Director Ian Lee and team for spearheading the project, enhancing Kuching’s cultural landscape while promoting creativity and community pride. ❤️
These charming sculptures don’t just beautify the city — they bring people together, reflect Sarawak’s spirit of unity, and offer memorable photo spots for everyone. 📸
🐾 Spot them, snap your pics, and share your luck!
