Sarawak Launches Smart Transport App in Miri
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) Sarawak has officially launched the Sarawak Smart Transport App (SSTA) for Miri Smart Buses — marking another major step in the state’s journey towards a smarter, greener, and more connected transport system. 💡Developed locally by Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise Sdn Bhd, the SSTA is a homegrown innovation supported by MoT Sarawak. Miri is the first city to adopt the platform for its bus services, with Miri City Bus leading the way!
Through the app, commuters can now:
✅ Track live bus locations via GPS
✅ View estimated arrival times
✅ Access route details — all in one place!
The SSTA platform also helps operators improve efficiency with real-time data, IoT integration, and automated reports — making public transport smarter and more sustainable. ♻️
Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said the initiative supports Sarawak’s Green Mobility Vision and reflects the state’s ability to deliver world-class digital transport solutions.
🚍 Currently, 14 smart buses are operating under the Miri free bus pilot project — and with SSTA, commuters can experience greater convenience and transparency.
