Mazu from Meizhou Enshrined at Kuching’s Tian Hou Temple
In a moment filled with devotion and pride, Kuching today warmly welcomed the sacred statue of Mazu, journeying all the way from the ancestral Meizhou Mazu Temple in China. The statue has now been officially enshrined at the Tian Hou Temple, under the Kuching Hainan Association. 🙏🌸

Originally scheduled to arrive earlier this week, the sacred statue’s journey faced delays due to typhoon-related flight disruptions. Yet, even under heavy rain, faith prevailed — touching down at Kuching International Airport around 2.30pm, where devotees eagerly awaited her arrival.

A grand float procession followed, filled with drums, lion dances, and vibrant music, as the statue was carried by hand through Jalan Pending and Jalan Sekama, stopping at several temples for rituals and blessings along the way.

Escorted by police for a smooth journey, the procession drew large, heartfelt crowds who lined the streets to pay homage — creating a powerful, spiritual energy that filled the city. ✨

Now enshrined at the Tian Hou Temple, devotees may come to offer prayers and seek Mazu’s blessings — for good weather, peace, prosperity, and harmony for all families. 🌺
