The Samarahan Food and Cultural Festival 2025 is set to welcome thousands of visitors as it returns with even more flavours, colours and cultural experiences. 🌟
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang, shared that the festival has grown from a small community event into a major cultural and economic platform that proudly represents Samarahan.

Last year, the festival attracted nearly 200,000 visitors and generated RM300,000 in returns — and this year promises to be even better.
🍢 What to Expect in 2025:
✨ 46 food stalls serving local favourites
✨ 10 craft booths showcasing handmade creations
✨ 10 food trucks
✨ Nightly cultural performances featuring bermukun, bertandak, kompang, gendang pampat, Bugis arts, Chinese traditional dances & more
Rubiah highlighted that every dish and performance reflects Samarahan’s deep respect for tradition while giving it a fresh, modern touch. The festival also plays an important role in supporting small and micro-enterprises, helping local traders, artisans, transport operators and accommodation providers reach bigger crowds.
🌱 Towards a Greener Event
SFCF 2025 embraces sustainability with digital payments, QR maps and reduced single-use plastics — aligning with Sarawak’s goal to cut carbon intensity by 45% by 2030.
🤝 The festival is made possible through strong collaboration between MPKS, UNIMAS, government agencies, NGOs and community groups — ensuring smooth operations and long-term continuity.
With its rich mix of cultural shows, mouth-watering local food and strong community spirit, SFCF 2025 is ready to shine as one of Sarawak’s top cultural and tourism highlights of the year ✨
