Kuching, Let’s Walk Together This Christmas! 🎄❤️

The Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) is inviting all Christians to join this year’s Kuching Christmas Parade happening this Saturday!

ACS Secretary General, Elder Ambrose Linang, shared that around 7,000 Christians are expected to participate in the joyful annual celebration.

✨ “Let us come together because diversity is strength, diversity is beautiful, and diversity is ‘delicious’ among the people of Kuching and Sarawak.”
He added that this is our shared city and state, and we must not allow racial or religious division to break the harmony that holds our community together.

This parade aims to highlight the true meaning of Christmas—a season of joy, peace, kindness, mercy, and goodwill—values that reflect our unity and the spirit of Sarawak.

🎁 Participants are encouraged to bring small Christmas gifts to bless those along the route.

🎉 Parade Highlights

✨ Theme: The Season of Love and Hope
✨ Hosted by: Methodist Church SCAC
✨ Participating Churches: 72 churches from various denominations including Roman Catholic, Anglican, Methodist (SCAC & SIAC), BEM, Seventh-Day Adventist, Salvation Army, Sarawak Baptist, Sarawak Blessed Church, and SECA member churches.

🎺 Five Boys’ Brigade marching bands
🚚 15 beautifully decorated floats featuring nativity scenes, angels, shepherds, wisemen, and more.

🕒 Parade Schedule

📍 Assemble: MBKS Jubilee Ground
⏰ 6:00pm — Arrival
⏰ 6:15pm — Praise & Worship
⏰ 6:45pm — Parade begins
⏰ 8:00pm — Christmas gift distribution
⏰ 9:30pm — Return to MBKS Jubilee Ground

🛣️ Parade Route (4km)

Jubilee Ground → Jalan Padungan → Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman (Waterfront) → Lebuh Temple → Lebuh Wayang → Jalan Tabuan → Jalan Ban Hock → back to Jubilee Ground

After the parade, all floats will be displayed at St Peter’s Church, Padungan for public viewing.

🚗 Traffic Advisory

⚠️ Traffic along the parade route will be affected from 7pm–9pm.
⚠️ Road access to MBKS Jubilee Ground will be restricted from 5pm onwards.
