The 2025 Borneo International Robotics Tournament is set to ignite young minds and celebrate global innovation as it kicks off at the Grand Ballroom of Meritz Hotel Miri from May 7 to 10.
Organised by SMK Chung Hua (CF) Miri with support from the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development and Sasbadi Learning Solutions, the event features categories like Robomission Battle, ReboSports Double Tennis, and an Open Category for adult competitors.
Teams from China, Chinese Taipei, Macau, Vietnam, and Thailand join 167 Malaysian teams in what promises to be a dynamic showcase of global collaboration and technological creativity.
Education Officer Mariam Monek praised the initiative as a platform for STEM growth and international knowledge exchange, while Principal Lai Jia Ling highlighted the school's commitment to student innovation and AI literacy.
With 314 local students earning co-curricular points, the tournament marks a key step in Miri’s rise as a centre for robotics and future-ready education.
