Get ready, Sibu! 🎉 The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) is proud to present the New Year Countdown 2026, themed “Hearts United”, happening on 31 December 2025 at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase One, starting from 8.00pm.

Join the community for an unforgettable night of celebration, unity and joy as we welcome the New Year together — all leading up to a breathtaking pyromusical fireworks display, perfectly synchronised to music and lighting up the night sky at midnight ✨🎇

The event will be graced by Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee.

💖 A Sea of Hearts
To symbolise love, warmth and unity, 1,000 heart-shaped glow sticks will be randomly distributed to the crowd — creating a stunning “sea of glowing hearts” that represents the strong bond of our community.

🌈 The night will also feature performances by children, youth talents and local artists, bringing fresh energy, creativity and inspiration to the stage.
