🎄 Christmas Festive Season Price Control in Sibu 🎄

In preparation for the Christmas festive season, 14 essential items in Sibu Division are now under a controlled pricing scheme.

📅 Duration: 23 Dec – 27 Dec
📦 Items covered include:

✅Live old chicken & chicken wings
✅Imported bone-in mutton
✅Live pigs (farm-level control only)
✅Pork belly, pork (meat & fat)
✅Imported round cabbage (from Indonesia & China, excluding Beijing)
✅Red carrots from China
✅Tomatoes, green capsicum, red chillies
✅Imported potatoes from China
✅Large red & yellow onions

⚠️ Important reminders for traders:
KPDN Sibu Office chief Kelyn Bolhassan @ Haliward warned that strict action will be taken against those who increase prices indiscriminately.

👉Individuals: Fine up to RM100,000, up to 3 years’ jail, or both. Compound up to RM50,000.

👉Companies: Fine up to RM500,000. Compound up to RM250,000.

Pink price tags are mandatory on all listed items. Failing to display:

👉Individuals: Fine up to RM10,000 / Compound up to RM5,000

👉Companies: Fine up to RM20,000 / Compound up to RM10,000

Kelyn also reminded all traders to adhere to regulations and maintain ethical business practices, while encouraging consumers to know their rights.
