🌿 Kuching Park Gets a Greener, Safer Upgrade! 🌿
Kuching South Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, says the upgrading of Kuching Park is a big step forward in Sarawak’s mission to promote environmental sustainability and a greener urban lifestyle.

This project is part of the Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI) Action Plan, under ‘Theme 4: Every Child Participates’ and ‘Outcome 4: Child-Friendly Green and Garden City Participation’. The goal? To create safe, engaging spaces where children can play, learn, and interact in a supportive environment.

💚 What’s new at Kuching Park:

✅Worn-out rubber flooring replaced with a new impact-absorbing playground surface made from recycled Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) granules.

✅The rubber safety flooring is fully produced in Sarawak using locally sourced recycled tyres, supporting sustainable practices and local industries.

✅The upgrade ensures a safer play experience, with better impact absorption and reduced risk of injury.

The RM319,200 project, carried out by Era Rafiqa Sdn Bhd, started Dec 22, 2025, and is expected to be completed by Feb 21, 2026.

⚠️ Note: Kuching Park will be temporarily closed during the upgrade.
