Deputy Minister Datuk Gerawat Gala is urging the Sarawak government and AirBorneo to increase flights to the state’s rural areas.“The Rural Air Service (RAS) isn’t just about flights—it’s a lifeline connecting interior communities to healthcare, education, jobs, and essential services,” he said.
Mulu, his constituency, has the highest number of airports and STOLports in Malaysia, including Mulu, Long Seridan, Long Banga, Long Lellang, and Bario. This shows the strong need for reliable air services.
Datuk Gerawat is calling on AirBorneo to provide safe, punctual, and accessible flights that meet the needs of rural residents.
