Batang Lupar 1 Bridge Nears Completion, Set to Open in May 2026
Exciting news for Sarawak! The Batang Lupar 1 Bridge in Sri Aman is set to open in May 2026 and will become Malaysia’s longest river-crossing bridge — a major milestone in coastal infrastructure development.

🏗️ The project just reached a key milestone with the successful Stitching Ceremony, connecting the bridge’s main structure. The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing connectivity for public welfare and economic growth.

🌉 This two-lane, one-way bridge spans Batang Lupar with 87 river piers and stretches 4,884 metres — one of Sarawak's most significant bridge projects.

🚗 Once completed, it will replace the existing ferry service, providing a safer, more efficient, and uninterrupted route from Sebuyau to Triso. This improved link is expected to boost commercial, agricultural, and tourism activities, supporting sustainable growth along the coastal corridor.

JKR Sarawak remains committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable infrastructure for the people and future of Sarawak.
