🐲✨ CMAA Rings in 2026 Chinese New Year with 11 New Lions!
We are thrilled to share that the Chinese Martial Art Association (CMAA) celebrated the Lunar New Year with a special eye-dotting ceremony at the Tua Pek Kong Temple last Sunday (Feb 1)! The event was graced by YB Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, who commended CMAA's dedication to preserving dragon and lion dance heritage in Sarawak.

In his speech, YB Dr Sim highlighted CMAA's key contributions:
✅ Organising dragon and lion dance performances for Sarawak’s state CNY functions from 2024–2026
✅ Successfully hosting the Sarawak Open International Dragon & Lion Dance Cup in 2024 and 2025
✅ Celebrating the CMAA Northern Lion Dance Team for winning bronze at the 2026 Sanya Cup International Competition in Hainan, China!

CMAA President, Mr Chester Lim Hian Thoong, expressed heartfelt thanks for the Deputy Premier’s unwavering support, which continues to inspire the association in promoting cultural and sporting excellence. The ceremony also doubled as CMAA’s 52nd anniversary celebration—honoring over five decades of commitment to passing on traditional values and discipline to the next generation.

Amidst incense and prayers for health, harmony, and prosperity, 11 newly unveiled lions were blessed for the year ahead. According to CMAA Treasurer Mr Nelson Nguang and Wushu Coach Mr Calvin Kong, our lion dance teams have a full performance lineup from the 1st to the 6th day of CNY, bringing blessings to homes and businesses across the community.

Let’s continue to keep tradition alive and roar into a prosperous Year of the Tiger! 🧧
