AirBorneo is set to take flight with its first regional jet services this July, with Kuching as the main hub and Kuala Lumpur and Singapore among its first destinations.
CEO Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin shared that the airline will start with three wet-leased Boeing 737-800 jets, serving initially one international and two domestic routes. More destinations will be added as operations grow.
🛫 “Regulatory approvals and airport slots are still being finalised. Flight schedules to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will be announced once confirmed,” he said during an exclusive iftar gathering with the media.
This launch marks Phase 2 of AirBorneo’s expansion, aiming to boost connectivity while still supporting rural services across Sarawak. By the end of 2026, the airline plans to operate three domestic and three regional international routes.
Preparations are already underway to ensure smooth operations, excellent passenger services, and strong branding and marketing before takeoff.
