Great news for Bintulu residents and travellers! The upcoming Jepak–Bintulu Airport dual-carriageway is making strong progress and could even be completed ahead of schedule—well before its original October 2027 deadline.
According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, shared that the 4.1km project is moving steadily thanks to smooth site conditions and continuous construction works.
Once completed, this new dual-carriageway will:
✅ Cut travel distance from 25km to under 8km
✅ Reduce journey time from nearly 30 minutes to just 10 minutes
✅ Greatly improve connectivity between Bintulu town and the airport
Even better—previous land acquisition issues that slowed progress have now been fully resolved, allowing construction to proceed without interruption.
🏗️ More Developments in Bintulu
In addition, the Integrated Administrative Centre (IAC) in Jepak is nearing completion, with construction expected to wrap up by the end of June. Once operational, it will serve as a modern one-stop hub for government services and become a new landmark in the area.
✨ Both projects are part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve connectivity, and boost service efficiency in Bintulu—bringing greater convenience to the community.
