Good progress is being made as preparations for the full operation of the Jelukong Rest & Relaxation (R&R) area along the Pan Borneo Highway move steadily forward, with the official opening scheduled for 15 May 2026.
Recently, Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR Sarawak) Director, Datu Dr Cassidy Morris, carried out an on-site inspection (9 May) to assess the readiness of food stalls and the convenience store at the R&R site.
According to JKR Sarawak, the visit focused on ensuring that all facilities are fully prepared and in good condition ahead of the official launch.
π΄ As part of the early rollout, several food stalls have already started limited operations, giving highway users an early taste of the services and environment available at the R&R.
π§Ή Meanwhile, cleaning and maintenance works are actively ongoing, covering key facilities such as toilets, surau, and surrounding areas to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for visitors.
π‘οΈ Security is also being closely monitored around the clock to maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for the public.
The Jelukong R&R is part of the wider effort to upgrade highway facilities along the Pan Borneo route, aiming to improve comfort and convenience for all road users travelling across the region.
