The National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) Sarawak brought the magic of ‘Pirin Kamek’ (meaning ‘Our Plate’) to the Borneo Cultures Museum as part of Colours of Malaysia 2026.
Through a stunning blend of dance, music, visuals, and storytelling, the JKKN Sarawak Cultural Troupe celebrated the uniqueness of Sarawak’s traditional cuisine—highlighting dishes like Iban penganan jala, Sarawak kek lapis, mee kolo, nuba laya, linut, and sigar tiramuak.
🎶 The performance even featured original music and lyrics in the respective ethnic languages, adding deep authenticity to the show.
As JKKN shared, “The performance served as a platform to strengthen appreciation of cultural diversity while promoting local heritage to both the public and tourists.”
And to top it off, audiences were treated to a special appearance by Malaysian musical artist Rodriguez Wan!
✨ Truly a beautiful celebration of Sarawak’s rich identity, culture, and heritage.
