🏆 Huge win for Sarawak’s Kuching Dragon Boat Club (KDB)!
After a month of intense training—while juggling work, family, and other commitments—the team traveled thousands of kilometers to China and brought home the International Friends Division title at the Nanchang International Dragon Boat Race 2026! 🇨🇳🚣♂️Competing in the 12-person Small Dragon Boat category, KDB delivered consistent, powerful performances to claim the overall championship.
The reward?
🥇 Gold medals
🏆 Championship trophy
💰 RMB 10,000 in prize money
🎁 And special gifts from the organizers
But it wasn’t just about racing. The team also took part in cultural exchange activities and presented a traditional Sarawakian Sape to the organizers as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation. 🎶🤝
This victory is yet another milestone for KDB, which has proudly represented Malaysia in regional and international competitions for years.
Held at Jiulong Lake from June 13–14, the annual Nanchang International Dragon Boat Race drew teams from across China and countries like the US, Russia, Italy, Germany, the Philippines, and Malaysia. It’s inspiring to see our sport growing worldwide.
