๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Sarawak to Host World Tapas Culinary Event in Miri this June!
From June 18โ€“21, Miri will welcome over 3,000 participants and visitors for the WATCEFS 2026 โ€“ a major international event featuring the World National & World Asia Tapas Competition, Exhibition, Festival, and Seminar.

According to Deputy Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting, the event will not only spotlight Sarawakโ€™s rich culinary heritage but also open doors for trade, investment, talent development, and global collaboration.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Sarawak is proudly recognized as the "Asia Capital of Tapas" โ€“ a reflection of our creativity and multicultural identity.

๐Ÿ† Winners qualify for the World Tapas Championship in Valladolid, Spain

Mayor Adam Yii added that Miri is the perfect host โ€“ as the gateway to northern Sarawak and home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Gunung Mulu & Niah National Parks).

This is more than a competition โ€“ itโ€™s a platform to connect, innovate, and elevate Sarawak as a top destination for gastronomy tourism.
