Who would have thought that fish from Sarawak’s own waters would soon become a favourite in another country? 🇸🇬✨
The tilapia from Batang Ai has already made its way into the Singapore market, with weekly supplies being sent there. Known for its fresh taste and quality, Sarawak’s local fish products are gaining attention beyond our shores.
With better roads, bridges and connectivity, more local products now have the opportunity to reach bigger markets and create better income opportunities for rural communities.
Besides tilapia, other Sarawak favourites such as terubok from Sebuyau, Batang Lupar, Daro and Batang Lassa, as well as lumek from Bruit, are also expected to benefit from improved access and growing demand.
From our rivers and communities to regional markets, Sarawak’s local treasures are slowly making their way to the world. 🌿🐟
A reminder that our local products have great potential when given the right opportunities. 💪
