Get ready, Kuching! 🥳 The Kuching Festival 2026 is making a grand return, marking its 40th anniversary with 29 exciting events celebrating culture, food, sports, music, arts and community spirit.

This year's theme, "Building a Compassionate and Resilient City for a Sustainable Future," reflects MBKS' vision of creating a city that is caring, inclusive and future-ready.

The celebration kicks off this Saturday (6.00pm) with the Smart Kids, Smart City Challenge – Robotic Walk at the MBKS Foyer, inspiring young minds through fun STEM activities. 🤖✨

🌟 Festival Highlights Include:
🎭 International Friendship Cities Night (31 July – 2 August) featuring cultural performances from China, Korea and Japan.
🇰🇷 Official launch of Guro Street, celebrating the friendship between Kuching and Guro City, South Korea.
🍽️ UNESCO Creative Cities Network Gastronomy Pavilion (3 – 9 August), showcasing world-class culinary heritage.
👨‍🍳 Borneo Culinary World Cup 2026 (5 – 7 August), bringing together talented chefs from around the region.
🛍️ Borneo-Japan New Trends Trade Expo 2026 (15 – 16 August) at The Everly Hotel, Vivacity.

💃 After setting two Malaysia Book of Records last year, MBKS is aiming for another record this year with the largest participation of senior citizens in a Zumba event!

The official opening ceremony will take place on 24 July, while the festival runs from 22 July to 16 August, promising weeks of fun, entertainment and unforgettable memories for locals and visitors alike.
