Calling all book lovers and knowledge seekers! πβ¨ Mukah will soon become the hub of literacy and lifelong learning as the Sarawakku Membaca Carnival 2026 takes place at Kampung Teh Multipurpose Hall on Aug 1, from 8am to 5pm.
Organised by Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) Sibu, the one-day carnival aims to promote a stronger reading culture through a variety of fun, educational and interactive activities for the whole community.
One of the highlights of the event will be the βFavourite Book Sharing Sessionβ featuring Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, who will share his favourite books and personal experiences on how reading has influenced his perspectives, leadership journey and lifelong learning.

More than just a book event, the carnival aims to create an enjoyable space where families and communities can come together to discover the joy of reading while building a more knowledgeable and informed society.
The programme is supported by various partners including Kampung Teh Village Library and Digital Community Centre (DCC), Mukah Public Library, JKKK, KMKK and Mukah District Office.
