Kuching to Host the 2026 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Annual Meeting
From August 4–6, Sarawak will proudly host the 2026 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Annual Meeting, bringing together delegates from UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy around the world to celebrate food, culture, and sustainable development.

As Malaysia's first UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Kuching has earned international recognition for its rich multicultural food heritage, indigenous culinary traditions, and commitment to preserving local flavours. 🌿🍜

Over the three-day event, delegates will take part in:
🍽️ Culinary showcases featuring local flavours
🤝 International networking and collaboration
💬 Discussions on sustainable food systems and gastronomic tourism
🏛️ Cultural and heritage visits around Kuching

One of the biggest highlights will be the "Plates with Purpose: UCCN Charity Dinner 2026" on August 5 at voco Kuching by IHG, where local and international chefs will present an exclusive eight-course dining experience celebrating heritage, creativity, and sustainability.

Visitors can also look forward to the exciting Tuak Buffet, featuring eight local tuak producers showcasing one of Sarawak's most iconic traditional beverages. For just RM50, guests can enjoy tasting sessions across all participating booths. 🍶

Beyond the food, international delegates will experience Kuching's unique culture, biodiversity, and warm hospitality—helping put Sarawak on the world map as a must-visit food destination.

It's more than just a conference—it's an opportunity to showcase the very best of Kuching and Sarawak to the world. ❤️

If you had one Sarawak dish to recommend to an international visitor, what would it be? 😋👇
