🥇 Sarawak Makes History in Women’s Water Polo! 💦🏆
What a moment for Sarawak! ❤️💛🖤Sarawak has made history at SUKMA Selangor 2026, clinching its first-ever gold medal in the women’s water polo event after defeating hosts Selangor 12–10 in a thrilling final at the Darul Ehsan Aquatic Centre! 🥇🎉
Sarawak got off to a strong start, leading 4–2 in the first quarter and extending the advantage with a 2–1 second quarter. The third quarter ended 3–3, while Selangor fought hard in the final quarter with a 4–3 score.
But Sarawak held on to its lead and sealed a memorable 12–10 victory! 👏🔥
This gold medal is especially meaningful as women’s water polo had not been contested at SUKMA for 13 years. Its return gave the Bumi Kenyalang squad a chance to write a brand-new chapter — and they certainly made it count! 🏆
As of 11.38am today, Sarawak has collected 21 medals:
🥇 6 Gold
🥈 4 Silver
🥉 11 Bronze
Sarawak is currently in 6th place in the medal standings, just behind Penang, which also has 21 medals and six golds but leads Sarawak by one silver medal.
