South Korea is now among the potential new destinations being considered for direct flights from Kuching by AirBorneo, with Jeju Island emerging as one of the key options. 🇲🇾❤️🇰🇷
According to Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, a direct Kuching–Jeju route could open up exciting new opportunities for tourism and travel between Sarawak and South Korea.
Interestingly, both Jeju Island and Kuching are linked to UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) recognition. Jeju has already received the status, while Kuching is expected to receive the recognition next year. 🌿🏞️
And of course, there’s another big reason why South Korea is being considered — Sarawakians love travelling to Korea! 😍🇰🇷
From K-pop 🎶, K-dramas 📺 and Korean food 🍜 to technology, automobiles and sports, South Korea has become a hugely popular destination among Malaysians.
Besides Jeju, Bangkok 🇹🇭 is also reportedly being considered as another potential destination.
With AirBorneo set to launch direct flights to Jakarta next month, the next new international route could potentially be Bangkok or Jeju Island. ✈️
Imagine being able to fly directly from Kuching to Jeju without having to transit elsewhere… 👀
If Kuching gets a direct flight to Jeju, would you be one of the first to book a ticket? 🇰🇷✈️😂
