🎆🇲🇾 Kuching Waterfront is set to light up this Malaysia Day!

Planning to celebrate Malaysia Day in Kuching? You may want to keep your eyes on the sky! 👀✨

A fireworks display will light up the Kuching Waterfront on Sept 16, as Sarawak hosts this year’s national-level Malaysia Day celebration.

🎆 The fireworks will be launched near the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex, following the main celebration at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) — giving the public another chance to soak in the Malaysia Day atmosphere.

The main celebration at BCCK is expected to welcome around 5,000 invited guests, with pre-show performances starting from 7pm. The official programme will run from 8.15pm until around 10.30pm.

✨ The celebration will feature performances representing the three regions of Malaysia, including:
🇲🇾 Sarawak — Dayang Nurfaizah
🇲🇾 Sabah — Stacy
🇲🇾 Peninsular Malaysia — Faizal Tahir

The programme will also include the raising of the Jalur Gemilang, the national anthem, Rukun Negara pledge and speeches by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.

While the main BCCK celebration is by invitation only, the public can still join in the Malaysia Day celebrations through various programmes around Kuching and across Sarawak. ❤️

🎭 Featuring pocket performances by cultural groups

🛍️ A Jualan Rahmah will also be held outside Plaza Merdeka during the same period.

Meanwhile, mini Malaysia Day exhibitions will take place in 10 divisions across Sarawak, including Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri, Limbang, Sarikei, Kapit, Bintulu, Mukah, Betong and Serian.

There will also be thanksgiving ceremonies ahead of Malaysia Day, including a multi-faith thanksgiving ceremony on Sept 14 at Pullman Kuching, followed by an Islamic thanksgiving ceremony at Masjid Jamek Kuching on Sept 15.

And one more interesting highlight — a limited-edition commemorative coin will be introduced for the first time as part of this year's Malaysia Day celebration. 🪙✨
