🎬✨ Kuching is officially getting its own AI movie moment!
Did you know that Malaysia’s first AI-animated short film is set entirely in Kuching? 👀

Titled “Michiru”, the 30-minute animated film brings familiar Kuching scenes to life — from our old streets and markets to the riverfront and public library. 🌆🌉

What makes it even more interesting? The team didn’t simply type a prompt and let AI do everything. 😂

They first captured real photos of Kuching, then combined them with AI tools, storytelling and plenty of creative work to turn those familiar places into an animated movie.

And it took around six months to bring the project from script to screen! 🎨🤖

MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng also hopes Sarawak can be recognised for its creativity, technology and homegrown talent, rather than being known only through negative headlines.

Now, Kuching is getting a chance to shine on a different kind of stage. ❤️
