🥁 The Lions Are Coming! Kuching Set to Host 3rd Lien Heng Cup

The 3rd Lien Heng Cup – Lien Heng Lion Dance Open Championship 2026 is aiming to bring together around 30 teams this year, with hopes of attracting even more interest in the traditional Southern Lion Dance.

Last year saw 23 teams take part, and this year, organisers are hoping to go bigger — not just for the competition, but to keep this beautiful traditional culture alive. ❤️

The championship will take place at The Hills, Kuching on Sept 26 & 27, featuring the Traditional Southern Lion Dance (Optional Ground Routine) category.

Teams from Sarawak, Sabah, across Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore are expected to gather in Kuching to showcase their skills, exchange knowledge and compete for the title of “King of Lions”. 🏆🦁

💰 RM25,500 cash prizes are up for grabs, with RM8,000 going to the champion!
