💛 Yellow Parking Bays for Senior Citizens in Kuching! 👵👴
Spotted a yellow parking bay at an MBKS market? These dedicated spaces are designed to make parking easier and safer for our senior citizens!According to MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, 2 to 3 senior citizen parking spots (located right beside OKU bays) are already available at council markets—and plans are underway to extend them to shopping malls and public areas! 🛒✨
Key highlights from the Mayor:
👉 Respect the spaces: Non-eligible drivers are urged to leave these spots for seniors who need them.
👉 Preparing for 2028: With Sarawak projected to become an ageing society by 2028, MBKS is fast-tracking age-friendly facilities.
👉 Future plans: A proposal is being prepared to waive parking fees/coupons for designated OKU spaces (pending council and ministry approval).
"We want to make sure everyone ages with dignity and stays healthy to enjoy their lifestyle," said Mayor Wee.
