🧺 Bidayuh Crafters Can Learn New Skills for FREE This October!

Looking to improve your craft skills, learn new techniques and turn your creativity into more opportunities? Here’s a free programme you might want to check out!

📣 Skills for a Sustainable Future is happening this October, bringing together Bidayuh crafters for two days of hands-on learning, skill sharing and practical training.

Organised through the Social and Community Wellbeing initiative in partnership with the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA), Curtin University Malaysia and Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), the programme will cover a range of useful topics, including:

🧺 Practical handicraft techniques
🌿 Sustainable material selection
💪 Ergonomics and healthier working practices
💡 Product development
📣 Marketing and promotion
🗣️ Cultural storytelling & public speaking

Participants will also learn how to work more comfortably and reduce physical strain while crafting, explore new ways to improve the quality and efficiency of their products, and discover how traditional crafts can be developed into products that meet market needs.

There will also be a focus on sharing the stories and cultural heritage behind Bidayuh crafts, while learning how to better present products and connect with customers.
