🇲🇾🇷🇺 More Russian Travellers Could Be Heading to Malaysia! ✈️🌴

Looks like Malaysia is hoping to see more Russian tourists exploring our country! 👀

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing said Malaysia should do more than just advertise here. One idea is to invite Russian travel agents to experience Malaysia for themselves, so they can discover what each state has to offer and create holiday packages that suit Russian travellers.

And there’s definitely room to grow. 👇

In 2025, more than 31.5 million Russians travelled overseas, with about 20.14 million travelling for leisure. Malaysia welcomed 139,733 Russian visitors that year.

For the first eight months of 2026, we’ve already welcomed 98,466 Russian visitors — a 4.3% increase compared with the same period last year. 📈

The Ural region is also seen as an interesting market, with around 15% of Russia’s outbound travellers coming from the region and a large high-income population.

So who knows… maybe more Russian travellers will soon be discovering Kuching, Langkawi, Sabah, KL and other parts of Malaysia! 🌴✈️
