Sarawak’s Heritage Takes the Spotlight at London Fashion Week 🌿✨
✨ Sarawakian designer Edric Ong has once again brought Sarawak’s rich textile heritage to the international fashion stage!

Recently, Ong presented his “Pusaka Heritage” collection at Fashion London during London Fashion Week, held at The Clermont London, Charing Cross on the Strand.

Inspired by Sarawak’s traditional kain songket, brocade and ikat textiles, the collection blends heritage craftsmanship with contemporary fashion. Ong also incorporated his own natural dyes made from “lac” and “ketapang”, alongside handwoven silk and cotton fabrics and handcrafted accessories.

🌿 The collection also features distinctive Sarawak elements, including the Orang Ulu palm-leaf saong sunhat and the traditional rattan Topi Tunjang.

Based in Kuching, Ong is known for combining ethnic and Oriental influences with contemporary designs, while championing Eco-Fashion and Slow Fashion through collaborations with local weavers and craft artists.

🏆 A multi-awarded Malaysian designer, Ong has previously been recognised as “Malaysian Designer of the Year 2009” and “Global Influencer” in 2016. He has also received the UNESCO-Asean Crafts Seal of Excellence and Japan’s “G” Mark award.

This is not Ong’s first appearance at London Fashion Week — he previously showcased his work in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

From Kuching to London, Sarawak’s heritage continues to make its mark on the global fashion scene. 🇲🇾🌿✨
