Sarawak is set to add another impressive engineering achievement, with a 704-metre elevated arch structure currently being built across swampy terrain in Sibu. ๐ฎ
And hereโs the interesting part โ once completed, it is expected to become the longest elevated arch structure in Southeast Asia! ๐ฒ๐พ๐
Located along Jalan Teku/Pasai Siong, the structure was specially designed to overcome the challenges of soft and swampy ground, where soil settlement can be a major concern.
Instead of simply working around the difficult terrain, engineers are using an innovative elevated structure to tackle the problem head-on. ๐ช๐ป๐๏ธ
The elevated section is part of the Jalan Teku/Pasai Siong/Jalan Kemuyang upgrading project, which includes a new 6.172km road connecting the Teku Pasai Siong area to Kemuyang.
