📹 MBKS Plans 197 CCTV Cameras for Kuching Residential Areas from 2027
Kuching residents, looks like more CCTV cameras could be coming to your neighbourhood!

MBKS is planning to expand CCTV coverage to residential areas, with 197 cameras proposed for installation from 2027 onwards. 🏘️

Currently, MBKS has 67 CCTV cameras, mostly in commercial areas. Now, the council wants to focus more on residential neighbourhoods, especially entrances and exits.

However, with limited funding, priority will be given to locations that need surveillance the most. The rollout is still in the planning stage, with implementation expected in 2027 and 2028.

The goal is to increase CCTV coverage across the MBKS area, with SDEC handling implementation while MBKS identifies suitable locations.

💬 What do you think, Kuching people? Would more CCTV cameras make you feel safer in your neighbourhood?
