🚌 SIBU TO GET 13 NEW ELECTRIC BUSES WITH FREE RIDES IN 2027! ⚡
Good news for Sibu commuters! 👀 Sibu is expected to welcome 13 new electric buses offering FREE rides in the first quarter of 2027, replacing the town’s existing stage buses.The new buses will serve Sibu town and surrounding areas, including:
📍 Sibu Jaya
📍 Kemuyang
📍 Ulu Sungai Merah
📍 Rantau Panjang
📍 Lower & Upper Lanang
According to Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, the initiative aims to improve public transport services in Sibu, following a similar approach in Miri. The new electric buses will also support Sarawak’s move towards cleaner, zero-emission transport. 🌱
Meanwhile, Kuching’s BAS.MY service has been making progress too! Since launching in March 2025, it has operated 56 new buses across 13 routes, carrying over 1.29 million passengers as of September 2026. 🚌
