Good news for Sarawakians! 👀 AirBorneo is set to launch its inaugural direct flight between Kuching and Jakarta on 23 October 2026, giving travellers another option to fly to Indonesia without transiting through Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.
The new route is also expected to boost medical tourism, making it more convenient for Sarawakians travelling to Jakarta for healthcare services.
According to Sarawak's Tourism Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Kuching–Jakarta route is part of the state's efforts to strengthen regional air connectivity.
The service is planned to operate three times a week, subject to approval from Indonesian aviation authorities.
